Controlling Fusion Allergy products

Hay fever is an allergy to pollen that causes irritating symptoms like sneezing, coughing, and itchy, watery eyes.
Most people with hay fever have an allergy to grass pollen, and will get symptoms between May and July when pollen is being released. Some will also have an allergy to the pollen from trees and weeds – these types of pollen are released from as early as February and as late as September.
The good news is that there are lots of different treatments for managing the symptoms of hay fever, including products from Fusion Allergy.
What is Fusion Allergy?
expand_moreFusion Allergy is a range of naturally derived products designed to treat the symptoms of hay fever and other types of allergic rhinitis. Fusion products are different to most other hay fever treatments as they contain Ectoin. This is a naturally protective substance found in microorganisms that live in extreme environments.
How can Fusion Allergy products help ease hay fever?
expand_moreTraditional hay fever treatments contain antihistamines. This type of medication helps to block the effects of histamine, a chemical released by your body in response to an allergen like pollen.
Rather than antihistamines, Fusion Allergy products contain Ectoin, which works by making a protective film of water molecules around the mucous membranes of the skin. This prevents allergens and irritants from penetrating the skin and causing a reaction.
For people with hay fever, Ectoin can be used both to prevent a reaction, and treat the symptoms of a reaction.
How to use Fusion Allergy to control your hay fever
expand_moreIndividually, Fusion Allergy products can be great at preventing and treating hay fever symptoms. However, you’ll have the most protection when you use the products in combination, as part of a three-step routine.
Together these products will help to prevent symptoms like coughing, sneezing, stuffiness, and itchy, watery eyes. They can also be used to treat symptoms as and when they occur.
1. Fusion Allergy lozenges
Fusion lozenges contain Ectoin, as well as other natural ingredients like menthol. They can prevent and treat allergic symptoms like coughing, by creating a protective coating over the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat.
The recommended dosage is one lozenge every three hours, however you can take a new one whenever it’s needed. Just make sure you don’t have more than 10 lozenges in 24 hours.
2. Fusion Allergy nasal spray
Fusion nasal spray contains Ectoin, sea salt and water. This treatment can help to prevent and treat hay fever symptoms affecting the nose, including sneezing, itching and stuffiness.
This nasal spray comes in an easy dispensing bottle. It’s designed to be used in both nostrils once or twice a day.
3. Fusion Allergy eye drops
Fusion eye drops contain Ectoin, salt and water, and are designed to prevent and treat the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis: redness, burning, watering, and itching in the eyes.
These eye drops are contained in single dose units, which means all you have to do is take one tube, open it, and drop the contents (1-2 drops) into your eye. You can do this several times a day, and even multiple times an hour if necessary.
If these drops have been recommended specially by a healthcare provider, make sure you use them as instructed.
Treating itchy eyes with Fusion Allergy products
expand_moreIn addition to Fusion eye drops, you can soothe the symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis using the Fusion cooling mask and Fusion eye spray:
- The cooling mask uses HydroCool beads to create a calming effect when placed over the eyes. Simply put this comfy reusable mask in the freezer for one hour, then place it over your eyes. This will help reduce itching and discomfort.
- The eye spray contains Ectoin and vitamins A and E. It should be sprayed onto closed eyes; the liquid will then enter your eyes when you blink. This spray can ease itching, pain and watering in the eyes.
Other tips for managing hay fever
As well as using Fusion Allergy products containing Ectoin, you can use over-the-counter treatments like antihistamine tablets, steroid nasal sprays, and eye drops containing sodium cromoglicate.
The NHS also recommends the following:
- Stay inside on days when the pollen count is high
- Keep windows and doors closed when you’re home
- Use a vacuum with a HEPA filter
- Put pollen filters in your car
When you have to be outside:
- Put petroleum jelly round your nostrils to trap pollen
- Wear wraparound sunglasses
- Avoid walking on grass
- Shower and wash your clothes when you get home
